The delicate process involves carefully Cutting & Engraving marble shapes by hand. One of the things that make the Taj Mahal so wondrously special is the marble inlay work you find on it. To begin with, a predefined pattern floral or geometrical design is engraved on the marble slab. After this, small pieces of Precious & Semi Precious stones of different shades are cut delicately & precisely to fit into these grooves. Apart from marble, many other materials can also be used to adorn the marble inlay spaces. Material Used: The Types of natural stones normally used for inlay on marble: Sea Shell, Brown Jasper, Green Malachite, Yellow Tiger Eye, Red Coral, Blue Lapis lazuli, Green Aventurine, Black Onyx, Yellow Tiger Eye, Sky Blue Turquoise , Abalone Shell, White Mother of Pearl, etc. Polish it up: Once the inlay work is completed & has dried, it’s time for the surface & edges to be polished & shined.
